A three day countdown to the premier of 「江～姫たちの戦国～」on the 9th of January 2011! How impatiently I have awaited for NHK’s 50th taiga?
I could go on and on about why you should watch this. Instead I will summarize:
Ueno Juri as Gou. (Fan girl decides she doesn’t need to say more.)
Etsushi Toyokawa as Oda Nobunaga. (Who was the one who came up with such perfect casting? Just watching the preview of his still smouldering sexiness as the warlord made me gush over him.)
Mukai Osamu as Hidetada Tokugawa. (Dishy hot actor of the moment. Enough said.)
Honami Suzuki as Oichi. (Three words. Tokyo Love Story.)
With Ueno as only the 10th female lead in fifty years of taigas, one hopes (feverently) for stellar ratings for her first period drama. Please also let this be a stepping stone to a possibility of her taking more interesting roles.
Ueno, I love you dearly but I won’t be able to remain a fan girl much longer unless you take on more challenging or different roles. Have you been so truly entirely devoid of any interesting offers? How about a female cop role? A detective? Or better yet a psychotic or sociopath killer?
(And if any CM Gods are listening, PLEASE let Ueno Juri and Tamaki Hiroshi get offered a food CM together. Why has this never happened even during the Nodame Cantabile days? Or have I just failed to notice? Mr Donut would be good. I don’t count that short poster promotion of the two I saw during Final Score’s promotions.
Anyway, since Tamaki has already done one of their ads, why not bring in Ueno? The pair have hilarious chemistry together and could promote the wonderful pon de ring series, tripling sales with the funny. And if that works, what more better than a series! It’s all about the branding!
Yes, I do get carried away easily…)
