무한걸스3 (Muhan Girls 3)

Did MBC hear my Christmas wish?

Muhan Girls 3/Infinity Girls 3/무한걸스3 begins this month!

Muhan Girls 3

Pardon me whilst I squeal!

While of course Hwangbo was and still is the same reason for me being into Muhan Girls, the all-female cast, concept of the show just appeals to me.

Although styled to be the female version of Infinity Challenge, Muhan Girls has always felt more like a girls out loud outing with your mates. (The kind you can count on to tell everyone about  your drunken antics the night before although they pretty much were up to the same nonsense.)

Muhan Girls Season 3 :

Song Eun Yi

Song Eun Yi 송은이

One of South Korea’s most beloved female entertainers, and largely considered to be one its best female talk host & comedian.

Song’s nicknames include the Nation’s Talking Machine to Golden Miss (a constant allusion and too often used gag to her “lonely” spinster status).

Besides her regular radio show with gag woman Shin Bong Sun (also a former member of Muhan Girls Season One)  Song is currently a semi-permanent MC on KBS variety show, Invisible Youth, and will probably be reprising her role as the leader and main host for Muhan Girls Three.

Baek Boram

Baek Boram 삐약이

Famous as a magazine model. (Whom recently confessed that her model pictures were photo shopped. Could be another reason to love the girl.)

One of the three former cast members from Muhan Girls Season One returning to Season Three, Baek shows off a off-beat but frank character image which sees her as a being a regular participant to various variety shows such as Star Golden Bell.

Hwangbo

Hwangbo 황보

My one and only. (She’s TOTALLY rocking this look by the way.) Former leader of Chakra, now a solo singer signed with SHIMTY company, her latest release being a ballad in 2010, “I’m Still Beautiful”.

Currently participating as a host in KBS Joy mentoring program, Storm with Brian Joo,  MBC’s Midnight Idol, and of course set to return to Muhan Girls Three.

If you are interested in finding out more about her, chances are you might be able to find online some of her stints on famous variety shows like the legendary but defunct X Man, Love Letter and of course MBC’s long-running, We Got Married as part of the Ssangchu couple with Kim Hyung Joong of SS501.

Ahn Young Mi

Ahn Young Mi 안영미

Gagwoman from KBS Gag Concert.

She came to fame (if I’m not wrong) with a famous skit dressed up as Gollum from Lord of the Rings. (Yoona of SNSD seems particularly fond of imitating her and that sketch.) and seems to do a fair number of unflattering body gags.

Ahn also seems to be also the only 2nd season Muhan Girl who made the cut into the 3rd; having seen her on a hilarious guest appearance in KBS’s Chitchat of the Beautiful Ladies, I’m quite looking forward to her interactions with the rest of the cast.

Oh Joo Eun

Oh Joo Eun 오주은

An actress whose most notable work I could find was as the chief female antagonist in popular drama, Lovers in Paris.

As a fellow 1980-er, (same as Hwangbo and Baek Boram) I’m looking forward to jokes galore and “rivalry” amongst the same age friends, particularly if some dashing virile young male happens to guest on the show.

Han Ji Woo

Han Ji Woo 한지우

A Miss Korea 1997 finalist, her current work of note is on-going drama, Jungle Fish 2.

She seems to be the youngest in this cast- a 1987. I guess there are going to be plenty of fueled age attacks here… Will she play the constant “act-cute-to-get-out-of-prison-card” here?

Time will tell, but my money says it ain’t going to work on a motley crew like this.
